Fifty in Five: Our 2023 Home Project List and 5 Year Goal

Happy 2023! We met with our contractor yesterday to timeline out our 2023 home projects. I’m excited to continue to work on our home and share the process and progress with you here this year. We have a Fifty in Five plan to tackle 50 home projects in 5 years. We’ve budgeted out and picked our 2023 projects and today I’m sharing that list plus the total 50 project scope.

Our Connecticut home is a 1940 center hall colonial that really hasn’t had many upgrades over the years, so it has a lot to address—pretty much EVERYTHING, but it has a lot of original charm, is structurally sound, and was a steal in a neighborhood we love.

Last year, we checked a few much needed things off that list including:

New plumbing, new electrical box & new electrical wiring, new furnace & water heater, home exterior painted, living room interior design and install, bedroom interior design and install.

We definitely have a vision for this home and goal setting is keeping us on track. Just depending on cost increases and timelines with contractors, these days we are at the whims of the professionals, but it’s good to have a blueprint of what we are doing and we are hoping in 5 years this list will be almost finished. Our contractor for most of these projects was booked 2 years out, so we are so thrilled to get the ball rolling! Here’s to saving the old homes and some fun design ahead!
